Details of the Day Trip

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Chengdu to commence this private excursion to Mount Qingcheng and Dujiangyan. Prepare yourself to explore two of the most iconic sites in the Sichuan region!

After approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes on the road, we will arrive at Mount Qingcheng, a majestic location surrounded by vibrant forests, recognized as the cradle of Taoism. You will have 3 hours to experience the Taoist temples hidden among the dense bamboo groves, lending a fairytale-like ambiance to the area.

Next, we will take a boat across Yuecheng Lake, reflecting the tranquil environment. Additionally, we'll utilize the cable car to ascend the mountain’s heights. During the ride, you will be treated to views of significant temples, including the Jianfu Temple from the Tang dynasty, and Tianshi Cave, constructed during the Qing dynasty.

Following this cultural and spiritual exploration, we will make a stop at a local eatery to savor a traditional Sichuan lunch. After eating, we will proceed to the renowned Dujiangyan irrigation system, an ancient engineering marvel and a World Heritage site.

Established in 256 B.C., this system is an exceptional feat that has rendered the region one of the most agriculturally productive areas in China. You will have 1 hour to visit the "fish mouth" and learn about this hydraulic engineering project, which has functioned continuously for over two millennia.

Moreover, we will pass through Lidui Park and explore the Two Kings Temple and the Dragon-Taming Temple, both notable for their traditional architecture and exquisite craftsmanship.

Before heading back to Chengdu, we will stop by the Dujiangyan Zhongshuge bookstore in Dujiangyan. This location is celebrated for its innovative design that harmonizes literature and architecture, making it an ideal spot for memorable photographs!

After a day spent uncovering breathtaking vistas, we will return to your hotel, concluding our adventure after approximately 9 hours.
