Day Trip Overview

At the appointed time, your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Chengdu as we set off for this private day trip to Mount Qingcheng and Dujiangyan. Prepare to explore two of Sichuan's most iconic locations!

After a travel period of about 1 hour and 15 minutes, we will arrive at Mount Qingcheng, a stunning site enveloped by verdant forests and recognized as the cradle of Taoism. Spend 3 hours here, immersed in the beauty of Taoist temples nestled among the dense bamboo, resembling a scene from a dream.

Next, we will take a boat ride across Yuecheng Lake, reflecting the tranquility of the area. Afterwards, we’ll board a cable car to ascend the mountain, where you can admire significant temples such as the Jianfu Temple from the Tang dynasty and the Tianshi Cave, built during the Qing dynasty.

Following this deep cultural experience, we will visit a local eatery to enjoy a traditional Sichuan lunch. After your meal, we will proceed to the renowned Dujiangyan irrigation system, an ancient engineering marvel recognized as a World Heritage site.

Constructed in 256 B.C., this irrigation system is a stunning feat that has made this area one of China's most agriculturally productive regions. You’ll have 1 hour to explore the "fish mouth" and learn how this hydraulic system has been operational for over two millennia.

Furthermore, we’ll stroll through Lidui Park where you’ll discover the Two Kings Temple and the Dragon-Taming Temple, both epitomes of traditional architecture adorned with intricate carvings.

Before concluding our trip back to Chengdu, we’ll make a stop at the Dujiangyan Zhongshuge bookstore, celebrated for its unique design that beautifully merges literature with architecture—a perfect backdrop for photographs!

Having spent an entire day delighting in breathtaking landscapes, we will return you to your hotel, concluding this remarkable adventure after 9 hours.
