Perené Valley Tour

We will convene at 8 am on Leopoldo Krausse Avenue in Villa Rica to embark on our adventure through the Perené Valley.

Traveling towards our destination, we will traverse the heart of the central jungle and make an intriguing stop at the Cerro de Sal mine, a historical site where salt was once harvested by Indigenous groups. Shortly after, we will pause at the Tinkuy Viewpoint to observe the confluence of the Chanchamayo and Paucartambo Rivers and the beginnings of the Perené River.

Continuing our journey, we will arrive at the Machetero Kingdom, a conservation center dedicated to the giant rodents in the area. Following our visit to this facility, we’ll proceed to an Asháninka community, where locals will graciously share insights into their rich culture and traditions.

After immersing ourselves in the lifestyle of the Asháninka people, we will venture deeper into the jungle to explore the Bride's Veil and Bayoz Waterfalls. These breathtaking natural wonders are highlights of the Perené Valley. Here, you can savor the pristine surroundings while enjoying a boat ride on the Perené River, where scenic views await along the banks.

Our journey will culminate at the Zhaveta Yard, commonly referred to as the Butterfly Garden. Here, we will encounter diverse species of butterflies and other fauna, including monkeys, turtles, paiches, and macaws, thriving in this remarkable sanctuary.

After an enriching 10-hour experience in the Perené Valley, we will return to Villa Rica, concluding our tour at the original meeting point.
