Your journey will commence at 10 am with a pickup from your accommodation, leading us into the depths of La Vega's religious heritage, focusing on the Catholic tradition.

As we leisurely walk through Duarte Park, our destination will be the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Upon arrival, guests will have the opportunity to explore the intricate hues of the cathedral's walls and their meanings, learn about the semi-elliptical columns, and uncover the significance of the number 12. Notable sights include the resurrected Christ and the Virgin of Christopher Columbus, alongside the historic first cross erected in America.

Our next stop will be the Sacred Museum, a treasure trove housing Taíno artifacts, archaeological remains, paintings, valuable relics, and a depiction of the first indigenous baptism. Exiting the museum, we'll observe the location of the former cathedral before journeying to Santo Cerro, home to the Church of Our Lady of Mercedes. This segment of the tour will delve into the indigenous legends surrounding the apparition of the Virgin Mary.

Continuing our exploration, we will visit La Vega Vieja, the site of the region's inaugural Spanish settlement, which met its fate in a devastating earthquake during the 16th century. Here, we will discuss the process of Christianization and the initial settlers of this area.

After this captivating journey, we will return you to the starting point, concluding our tour at around 1:30 pm.
