Silent Zone, Mapimí & Ojuela: 2 or 3 Day Tour

Your adventure begins with a hotel pickup at 5 am, as we embark on an exhilarating 2 or 3-day journey through some of the most enchanting regions of Durango.

Day 1: Durango - Mapimí - Ojuela - Silent Zone

After meeting you at your accommodation in Durango, we will proceed to the enchanting Pueblo Mágico of Mapimí, where a wholesome breakfast awaits. Following our meal, our first stop will be the Benito Juárez Museum, notable for being the former residence of the politician during Mexico's Republic era.

Our exploration continues at the Rosario Caves, historically rich as a site for phosphorite extraction in the 20th century. Here, we will marvel at its unique salt formations and keep an eye out for the mythical elf and the piano. Moving forward, we will arrive at the abandoned village of Ojuela, where we will explore the Santa Rita mine and traverse its iconic suspension bridge.

At around 4 pm, we will reach the Silent Zone, where a delightful lunch awaits. Following our meal, we will delve into the area's legends, including the tale of the Athena missile and its intriguing magnetic anomalies. Additionally, we will visit the Hikuri shrine for an insightful look into shamanism and the significance of cacti. To conclude our first day, we will enjoy dinner, a cozy bonfire, and a fire ceremony.

Day 2: Silent Zone - Durango

After breakfast, our first destination will be the railway station that once served the NASA train. We will then proceed to Tetas de Juana Hill for some picturesque photo opportunities. Our journey will take us past the remnants of abandoned mercury mines, the Carillo Station, and expansive salt flats, where we will discuss the fascinating mysteries surrounding these locations and the broader area.

Next, we will participate in a symbolic ceremony in honor of the air, followed by lunch back at the camp. In the afternoon, attend the earth ritual before we make our way back to your hotel in Durango, aiming to arrive by 2:30 pm.

3 Day Tour

Selecting the option to extend your tour by an additional day allows you to visit the historic Los Remedios estate. Here, you will explore its remnants and enjoy the thermal baths at El Ojo de la Cueva, where you'll partake in a water ritual.

After this enriching experience, we'll return to the Silent Zone for lunch before heading back to your hotel in Durango, again arriving around 2:30 pm.
