Upon reservation, you may select between two distinct itineraries. Both options include a morning pickup at your hotel in Chaves at 9 am, an English-speaking guide, and transportation back to your hotel. Below are the specific details of each option:

Excursion to Chaves, Boticas, and Montalegre

Your adventure begins with a pickup at your hotel in Chaves to embark on an exploration of the stunning Trás-os-Montes region. Our journey will take us to Alto Tâmega, known for its charming villages.

The first destination will be Montalegre, dominated by a castle from the 13th century. We'll admire this historic structure perched on a hill, followed by a visit to the Montalegre Ecomuseum. Here, we will delve into the rich history and cultural heritage of this enchanting town.

Next, we’ll travel to Boticas, a charming village nestled in Alto Tâmega. Its stone houses are sure to charm you! We will explore the Rural Museum, showcasing traditional agricultural tools and various ethnographic artifacts. After our visit, you will have an hour of free time in Boticas, perfect for enjoying lunch and savoring the delights of Portuguese cuisine.

After the pause, we'll head to Chaves, where the impressive medieval fortress serves as a reminder of historical conflicts between Portugal and Spain. Our route will include a view of the Roman bridge of Trajano and the thermal baths of Chaves before returning you to your accommodation. The tour is concluded by 5 pm.

Excursion to Chaves, Valpaços, and Vila Pouca de Aguiar

This option commences with a visit to Chaves, continuing similarly to the previous itinerary. Following this, we will make our way to Vila Pouca de Aguiar, where the Parque de Pedras Salgadas, featuring breathtaking natural scenery, awaits.

The journey proceeds to Valpaços, another noteworthy town in Trás-os-Montes where we will visit the Wine Museum, gaining insights into the local wine-making traditions. Our tour will conclude by 5 pm back at your hotel.

Please be aware that pickup is provided for hotels situated within a 2-kilometer radius of central Chaves. If your hotel is located beyond this distance, you will need to reach the meeting point: Alameda Las Caldas.
