Los Glaciares National Park Boat Excursion

Experience the breathtaking icebergs of Los Glaciares National Park on this journey starting from El Calafate. This excursion includes a serene boat ride that navigates through this incredible natural landscape.

Description

At the scheduled time, you will be collected from your accommodation in El Calafate and we will proceed along National Route 11. As we travel on this road adjacent to Lake Argentino, expect to witness fantastic vistas of Patagonia's largest lagoon.

Following a scenic 40-minute drive, we will reach the Puerto Bandera pier, where our adventure begins with a remarkable boat trip to observe the glaciers. This leg of our journey will take us into the northern section of Lake Argentino, where we will navigate through the striking Boca del Diablo (Devil's Mouth). Amidst the captivating scenery, a vast collection of icebergs will be visible from the boat, their deep blue hues presenting a mesmerizing spectacle!

We will then progress towards the impressive ice barrier, allowing us to witness the calving of the Upsala Glacier, renowned as the largest in the park. Our path will bring us alongside the Heim, the Peineta, the Seco, and the Spegazzini glacier, the tallest among them. We will make a stop at the foot of the Spegazzini Glacier, where a short, easy hike next to Glacier Bay awaits.

The hiking trail will lead us to the Spegazzini Refuge, providing an opportunity for self-catered lunch. After regrouping, we will return by boat to the Puerto Bandera pier. Finally, we will head back to your hotel in El Calafate, concluding approximately 10 hours after the excursion commenced.
