Description
At the scheduled time, your journey begins with a pickup from your accommodation in El Calafate. We’ll take National Route 11, a road that offers captivating views alongside Lake Argentino, the largest lagoon in all of Patagonia.
After approximately 40 minutes, we will reach the Puerto Bandera pier, where the memorable boat adventure to explore the glaciers awaits. Our expedition starts by navigating through the northern arm of Lake Argentino, passing through the renowned Boca del Diablo (Devil's Mouth). As we navigate, the incredible sights will reveal a spectacular array of icebergs, characterized by their striking blue hues!
Continuing our voyage, we will approach the impressive ice barrier, witnessing the calving of the Upsala Glacier, the park's largest glacier. The route will take us past iconic glaciers such as Heim, Peineta, Seco, and the towering Spegazzini glacier. We will make a stop at the foot of the Spegazzini glacier, where a gentle hike beside Glacier Bay will be available.
This trail leads us to the Spegazzini Refuge, where you're welcome to enjoy lunch at your own leisure. Afterward, we will gather again to board the boat and return to Puerto Bandera. Finally, we will head back to your hotel in El Calafate, completing this enriching 10-hour excursion.
Excursion without hotel pickup
Should you prefer, you can meet your guide directly at the Puerto Bandera dock. Please note that meeting times vary by season:
- June - August: 9:30 am
- September - May: 8:30 am

Important information
Excursion with hotel pickup
If you have chosen the option with hotel pickup, at the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the hotel in El Calafate indicated in your reservation. Please be ready a few minutes in advance.
From June to August, pickup will be at 8:00 am, and from September to May, it'll be at 7:15 am.
Excursion without hotel pickup
If you prefer, you can meet the guide directly at the dock of Puerto Bandera. You can check its exact location using this Google Maps link.
The meeting time at this point varies by season:
- June - August: at 9:30 am
- September - May: at 8:30 am

Entrance to Los Glacieres National Park
You can buy tickets in advance using the following link on the official website: (https://ventaweb.apn.gob.ar/reserva/inicio) using a credit card. The option you should select is the one called "portal de acceso Puerto Bandera" (Puerto Bandera entry point). Or, on the day of the visit, you can pay the entrance fee at the ticket office with Argentine pesos in cash.
Please Note
