El Calafate & Glaciarium Museum Tour

Join us on a tour of El Calafate to explore the gateway to Glacier National Park and visit the Glaciarium for a drink at its ice bar.

Tour Details

The tour begins with a pickup at your hotel, leading to the historic center to learn about the town's past. We will explore how El Calafate transformed from rural roads to a gateway for the Glaciers National Park.

Next, we will visit the Redonda Bay promenade to admire Lake Argentino for half an hour. During spring or summer (October to April), we may observe flamingos and migratory birds.

We will then proceed to the Glaciarium for a 1-hour tour of the museum, featuring interactive rooms with audiovisual projections and relief maps detailing glacier formation and evolution. The phenomenon of the Perito Moreno glacier breakup will also be discussed.

Subsequently, we will visit the Glaciobar, the first ice bar in South America, where we will warm up and enjoy two drinks for 30 minutes.

Additional Information

From October to April, we will conclude the tour with a lunch or dinner at El Cucharón restaurant, which includes a main course, dessert, and a non-alcoholic beverage, returning to your hotel 4 hours after pickup.

From May to September, we will enjoy a hot chocolate at Ovejitas de la Patagonia and return to your hotel 3.5 hours after pickup.
