Hike to Pedra Alta & Pontinha Viewpoints

Upon booking, you will have the option to select one of the hiking paths outlined below. Both choices come with hotel pickup and the guidance of a Portuguese-speaking expert, and require a reservation with ICMBio.

4-Hour Hiking Option

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Fernando de Noronha at the scheduled time. We will then travel to Vila do Trinta to commence our journey through the remarkable viewpoints of Pedra Alta and Pontinha.

Once assembled, we’ll proceed along a scenic path that stretches approximately 2.3 miles (3.7 km) along the Mar de Fora coastline, encountering various volcanic rock formations until we reach the renowned viewpoints.

At these locations, we will marvel at the breathtaking vistas of the Fernando de Noronha archipelago, its natural splendor, and the unique geographical features available – a perfect moment to capture beautiful memories!

Throughout our hike, we will take breaks at several natural pools, where you can swim and immerse yourself in the island's rich marine biodiversity.

This exhilarating hike concludes at Caieira Beach, after which we will transport you back to your hotel.

5-Hour Hiking Option

Your day kicks off with a scheduled hotel pickup in Fernando de Noronha, leading into a 3.1-mile (5 km) trek towards Vila do Trinta.

Initially, we will pause at Atalaia Beach, a stunning natural aquarium where the guide will provide instructions to responsibly navigate the waters. Here, revel in the serene natural pool and observe the abundant local marine life through snorkeling.

Post-exploration, we’ll make our way to the spectacular viewpoints of Pedra Alta and Pontinha for more gorgeous sceneries of Fernando de Noronha. This will be followed by visits to additional natural pools with crystalline waters for more refreshing dips.

Our hiking tour will wrap up at Caieira Beach, from where we will take you back to your hotel in Fernando de Noronha.

ICMBio Reservation Requirement

Participation in this activity requires that a reservation is made with ICMBio (Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation). Reservations must be done in person by the visitor at the entrance to Fernando de Noronha Marine National Park, located at the Visitor Center ICMBio / TAMAR - Vila do Boldró. The park's hours of operation are daily from 4 pm to 7 pm. Note that online reservations are not available.
