Journey Aboard the Columbus Caravel

We'll gather at the appointed time at the Marina Funchal port, where the splendid Santa Maria caravel awaits our arrival. While aboard this remarkable ship, we will journey back to 1492 and experience the essence of Christopher Columbus' expedition as we navigate along Madeira's picturesque southern coast.

During our time on the caravel, you'll have the chance to engage with the crew, a lively ensemble of pirates from Madeira! Additionally, there may be opportunities to catch a glimpse of the vibrant dolphins and whales that inhabit these Atlantic waters.

This impressive vessel, constructed in Câmara de Lobos, is a replica of the caravel that sailed alongside La Pinta and La Niña during the discovery of America. Serving as the largest of the trio, the Santa Maria was under the command of Columbus himself. Guests will have the opportunity to explore its deck, descend into its hold, admire the striking Portuguese sails, and gaze from the crow's nest.
