Tour Overview

We will commence our journey by picking you up from your accommodation and proceeding to the Funduras trail in Fajã dos Rolos. Upon our arrival, you will be outfitted with all necessary safety gear, and we’ll assign you your buggies. Are you ready for an exploration into eastern Madeira?

During the course of the 2.5-hour experience, we will navigate the buggies across dirt paths and rocky terrains. Revel in the breathtaking views of the rugged landscape and thick greenery characteristic of the Laurisilva Forest, a vital ecosystem recognized as a World Heritage Site.

Our first stop will be at Casa das Funduras, a key forestry support hub. Here, you will gain insights into the sustainable practices employed for managing this protected territory and its significance in safeguarding Madeira’s rich biodiversity.

As we continue, our route will feature twisting trails designed to challenge the buggies' traction, always ensuring a low level of difficulty and maximum safety. The environment will gradually unveil itself until we reach Pico do Furado, renowned as one of the tour's most impressive lookout points.

From this vantage point, we will be treated to sweeping panoramic views of Madeira’s northern shoreline, marked by dramatic volcanic cliffs and deep canyons. After pausing for photos and refreshments, we will make our way back to the buggy tour’s starting location.

Eventually, we will return to your hotel, concluding our journey after approximately 4.5 hours together.

The tour includes a pickup service from hotels situated in Machico, Santa Cruz, Caniço, and various locations throughout Funchal.

Activity Requirements

Each buggy accommodates a maximum of 2 individuals: a driver and a passenger. Both may alternate driving responsibilities, provided they satisfy the necessary conditions. Pricing is set per vehicle, not per person.
Participants wishing to drive must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driving license.
The minimum age for a passenger in the buggy is 7 years old.
