Details of the Day Trip
After collecting you from your hotel in Funchal at the agreed time, we will head to the Picos dos Barcelos viewpoint. Here, you will have the opportunity to take in the expansive views of the city.
Our journey continues as we arrive at Curral das Freiras, a quaint village nestled in the renowned Nuns' Valley. In 1566, during a pirate raid on the convent in Funchal, the nuns sought refuge in this secluded area of Madeira, which is how it earned its unique name. You will be captivated by the steep peaks that encircle this serene village.
The itinerary proceeds to the renowned Eira do Serrado viewpoint, where a 30-minute stop will allow us to relish the stunning vistas of the Nuns Valley. The verdant hills and picturesque whitewashed homes of Curral das Freiras create an idyllic scene!
Upon soaking in the breathtaking surrounding, we will head back to Curral das Freiras, from where we will return to Funchal by minibus. The total duration of this experience is approximately 4 hours, concluding with your drop-off at the hotel.
