Day Trip Details
Our excursion to Loch Ness departs from Glasgow and heads northward, pausing briefly for refreshments along the tranquil shores of Loch Lomond.
As we progress along this picturesque loch, we'll ascend into the Highlands, traversing the distinctively striking terrains of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount before reaching the renowned Glencoe, famous for its dramatic beauty and historical significance as the site of the 1692 MacDonald clan massacre.
We will continue our journey through the stunning scenery of Loch Linnhe, with a lunch stop in the vicinity of Fort William. Following this, we enter the idyllic Great Glen, where we pass under the shadow of the highest peak in Britain. Our travels lead us to the charming village of Fort Augustus, where you'll have the option to embark on a cruise across Loch Ness (additional cost) or enjoy some leisure time along the shoreline.
Loch Ness stretches an impressive 24 miles (39 km) in length and plunges to a depth of 700 feet (213 meters), gaining fame for its storied sightings of the beloved Loch Ness Monster, affectionately named Nessie.
Leaving Fort Augustus, we will begin our return journey to Glasgow, crossing the beautiful Grampian Mountains and the lush landscapes of Perthshire. Along the way, we will make a comfort stop in the Victorian-style resort town of Pitlochry.
