Tikal & Yaxha Two-Day Excursion

Day 1

Your adventure begins bright and early at 4:30 am with a pickup from your hotel in Guatemala City. We will travel to La Aurora International Airport to board our flight to Flores.

Just an hour later, we will arrive at Mundo Maya Airport and head towards the fascinating site of Yaxha. An interesting fact: these archaeological ruins were featured in a reality survival series!

Yaxha will mesmerize you with its diverse range of over 500 structures, which include 9 temple pyramids, 13 altars, and 2 ballcourts, along with the pathways that intertwined the ancient Mayan city. Surrounded by a lush jungle and stunning lagoons, the remnants of stone reveal the origin of its Mayan name!

After fully exploring this impressive site, we will break for lunch (meal not included) before heading to Flores for a relaxing evening at the hotel, preparing for the adventures of the next day.

Day 2

Following a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we will set out for a scenic hour and 15-minute drive to Tikal National Park.

Upon our arrival, we will dive into an exploration of the Mayan ruins nestled within the jungle. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tikal boasts a rich history spanning over 2000 years. Your knowledgeable English-speaking guide will help you uncover its secrets as we ascend the steps of the Temple of the Great Jaguar, standing majestically at 150 feet (47 metres), and the Temple of the Mask, reaching 125 feet (38 metres) in height.

We'll dedicate three hours to wandering the park, delving into the intricacies of Mayan civilization while gazing upon one of the largest ancient cities in the region. What circumstances in the 10th century led to its eventual abandonment? Famine, revolt, or perhaps another mystery? Your guide will provide insights throughout the tour!

After concluding our guided exploration of the ruins, we will take a well-deserved break for lunch. Following this, we will return to Flores airport to board our flight back to Guatemala City, concluding our journey with a drop-off at your hotel.

This enriching two-day experience includes one night of accommodation in Flores. You can select your lodging category between 3 and 4 stars at the time of booking, with the following options:
