Itinerary Overview for 8 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Hammamet

Welcome to Tunisia! Upon your arrival, our team will greet you at Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport. You will be escorted to your hotel where you can check in and leave your belongings. The remainder of the day is at your leisure, allowing you to unwind before we embark on our adventures. Additionally, dinner is included at your accommodation.

Day 2: Hammamet - El Djem - Matmata - Douz

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we set off to our first stop, the city of El Djem. Here, we will explore the masterpiece of Roman architecture—a magnificent amphitheatre constructed in 238 AD. As we walk through this UNESCO World Heritage site, we will recall the thrilling events that it once hosted.

Continuing our journey, we will arrive in Matmata, renowned for its unique troglodyte homes, made famous by their appearance in the Star Wars films. An explanation of the traditional construction of these rock dwellings will be provided before we stop for lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch, we will traverse the Douz desert, taking in the stark beauty of this arid landscape. You may also opt to experience a camel ride while we walk among the sand dunes.

We will check into our hotel in Douz for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 3: Douz - Chott El Djerid - Tozeur

After breakfast, we will depart Douz and make our way to Chott El Djerid, a captivating saltwater lake. During our visit, we will discuss the seasonal transformations of the area and the intriguing optical illusions that occur here.

Next, we will proceed to Tozeur for lunch, followed by a guided tour of the Medina. Highlights of our exploration will include the gorgeous mosque facade, the city's distinctive architectural style, and a stroll through the vibrant traditional market before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Day 4: Tozeur - Kairouan - Hammamet

Following breakfast at the Tozeur hotel, we will head northeast towards Kairouan, recognized as one of Tunisia's oldest cities. Its significant Islamic heritage will be highlighted as we visit the mosque of the Barber Sidi Sahbi, a loyal companion of the Prophet Mohammed.

Our exploration continues as we wander through the walled city, browsing its souks and admiring the characteristic white facades with blue accents. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will return to Hammamet for dinner and a restful evening at the hotel.

Days 5, 6 & 7: Leisure in Hammamet

Days 5 through 7 of this Tunisian adventure offer free time to relax and enjoy the amenities of your hotel. Just steps away from the beautiful Hammamet beaches, spend your days unwinding on golden sands, swimming, or strolling along the coastal path lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants.

This time to recharge is the perfect way to balance the days filled with cultural and historical exploration.

Day 8: Departure from Hammamet

On the final day, breakfast at the hotel is included. At the scheduled time, we will transfer you to Hammamet airport for your return journey. Safe travels!

Accommodation Details

During this 8-day journey, enjoy 7 nights of accommodation with breakfast at carefully selected hotels:

• Hammamet: 5 nights at Hotel Mehari 5* or equivalent.
• Douz: 1 night at Hotel Sun Palm 4*, Mouradi 5*, or equivalent.
• Tozeur: 1 night at Hotel Ras el Ain 4*, Mouradi 4*, or equivalent.

Children ages 5-12 are eligible for a discount when accompanied by at least two adults in the same room.
