Day Trip Overview

We will commence the day with a pickup from your hotel in Hermosillo at the scheduled time and set off towards San Nicolas, a remarkable desert landscape renowned for its vast sand dunes, perfectly suited for sandboarding. Are you prepared for an exhilarating day?

During our 1.5-hour drive, we will pause at the stunning Sahuaros forest. This natural wonder is famous for its towering cacti that can reach heights of up to 14 meters (45.9 feet), and it promises to leave a lasting impression!

Following our visit, we will proceed to the renowned San Nicolas dunes for an exciting sandboarding session. If you're new to this activity, don't be concerned; sandboarding is simpler than it appears. We’ll start with a beginner-friendly 7-meter (23 feet) slope before advancing to a 9-meter (29.5 feet) tall dune. Once you feel comfortable and confident, we will tackle the impressive 50-meter (150-foot) dune, ensuring a fun-filled experience!

After mastering the art of sandboarding, you will have 2 hours of leisure to enjoy the idyllic beach of San Nicolas, where the desert meets the sea. Whether you wish to swim or bask in the sun, this scenic location is perfect for relaxation.

Next, we will travel to Bahia de Kino, where you can savor a delightful lunch at one of the nearby local eateries. Following your meal, we will visit the Comcaác Museum, where you'll gain insights into the region's rich history and culture. To cap off the day, we’ll make our way to the Kino Viejo pier to capture captivating photographs of the sunset over the Sea of Cortez.

After a day filled with excitement, we will make our return to Hermosillo, expected to arrive approximately 10 to 11 hours post-pickup.
