Trip Overview

Beginning with a pickup from your hotel in Iquique, we will journey east towards Mamiña. Nestled in the Tarapacá region, this quaint town is renowned across Chile for its rejuvenating hot springs.

As we travel, you will traverse an expansive desert dotted with candelabra cacti, framed by striking reddish hills. Upon arriving in Mamiña, a guided exploration of the village awaits. We will stroll through the charming streets, appreciate the local liparite stone architecture, and take a moment at the bustling main square while stopping by the historic church built in 1632.

Our journey will also delve into Mamiña’s Quechua heritage and rich traditions that have persisted over centuries. After our village tour, we will head to the Chinese mud hot springs, offering you a chance to enjoy a relaxing soak and rejuvenate your skin. Once refreshed, we will savor a lunch comprised of three dishes celebrating the local cuisine at a nearby eatery.

Post-lunch, our next stop is a cheese factory located just outside the village. Following this visit, we will explore one of Mamiña’s highlights - the Ipla Hot Springs. This thalassotherapy center features inviting open-air pools with temperatures ranging from 40 to 45 degrees, known for their therapeutic benefits in alleviating muscle and joint discomfort.

After our time at Ipla Hot Springs, we will make our way back to your hotel in Iquique, concluding the day after approximately 10 hours.
