Excursion Overview

Upon your pickup from your accommodation in Iquique, we will embark on an eastward journey towards Mamiña. This quaint town, situated within Chile’s Tarapacá region, is renowned for its revitalizing hot springs.

As we traverse a sprawling desert terrain dotted with candelabra cacti against a backdrop of reddish hills, anticipation builds. Once we reach Mamiña, a guided exploration of the village awaits. We will meander through its streets, take in the aesthetic of the liparite stone structures, and make a stop at the town square. A visit to the historic church, constructed in 1632, will also be included.

During our exploration, insights into Mamiña’s Quechua heritage and age-old traditions will be shared. Following our tour of the village center, we’ll proceed to the Chinese mud hot springs. Here, you can enjoy a therapeutic soak and exfoliate your skin. Afterwards, a delightful lunch with three courses highlighting local cuisine will be served at a nearby restaurant.

Post-lunch, our journey will take us to a cheese factory located on the fringes of the village. Subsequently, we will head to another well-known site in Mamiña: the Ipla Hot Springs. This thalassotherapy facility features open-air pools with temperatures ranging from 40 to 45 degrees. The mineral-rich waters possess therapeutic benefits, aiding in the relief of muscle and joint discomfort.

After enjoying the facilities at Ipla Hot Springs, we will return you to your hotel in Iquique, concluding our experience after approximately 10 hours.
