Meybod, Kharanaq & Chak Chak Private Trip Ending in Yazd
Description
Are you in Isfahan? Discover the magic of the Iranian desert on this unforgettable trip to Meybod, Kharanaq and Chak Chak, concluding in Yazd.
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Isfahan and head to Meybod, a city with a history over 1800 years. Ready to explore?
In Meybod, we will visit the Naryn Castle, a mud-brick fortress dating back to Achaemenid times, offering panoramic views. We will also see the Pigeon Tower, a 16th-century structure for housing pigeons, and the Yakhch?l Ice House, an ancient cooling facility showcasing early Persian engineering.
Next, we'll proceed to Chak Chak, the most significant Zoroastrian shrine in Iran, located on the mountainside and a key pilgrimage destination. Legends state that Nikbanou, daughter of the last Sassanid king, found refuge here during Arab advances.
We'll take a break for lunch at a local restaurant to experience authentic Persian cuisine before moving on.
The final stop is Kharanaq, an ancient mud-brick village. There, we will explore its narrow alleys and visit the swinging minaret, a renowned 14th-century tower, and the Old Bridge of Kharanaq, a Sassanid-era structure over a dry riverbed.
