Description
Explore one of Istanbul's most remarkable architectural treasures with the tickets to Beylerbeyi Palace. An audio guide in English will accompany you, providing insights into this exquisite location, once favored as a summer retreat by Ottoman sultans, while allowing you to bypass the lines.
Beylerbeyi Palace
Among Istanbul's many architectural wonders, the Beylerbeyi Palace stands out as a significant historical monument.
Perched on the Asian coast, just a stone's throw from the Bosphorus Bridge, this palace was commissioned by Sultan Abdülaziz in the 19th century to serve as a summer residence for the sultans of the Ottoman Empire. Additionally, it functioned as an opulent guesthouse for visiting foreign dignitaries.
Crafted by the skilled Balyan family, the design of the palace exemplifies the harmonious fusion of European Neo-Baroque elements with traditional Ottoman aesthetics. The captivating white marble façade, along with the exquisite Bohemian crystal chandeliers, lavish Hereke carpets, and intricate Chinese porcelain pieces on display, contribute to its stunning appeal and notable architectural importance.
Your ticket includes an audio guide in English, enabling you to immerse yourself in the rich history of Beylerbeyi Palace as you wander through its elegantly adorned rooms. This historical site has hosted notable figures such as the Shah of Persia, King Edward VIII of the UK, and Empress Eugénie de Montijo. It was also the place where Sultan Abdul Hamid II was held after his removal from the throne.
Be sure to take a leisurely stroll through the palace's magnolia gardens, which boast some of the finest views of the Bosphorus Strait and the various maritime pavilions that embellish the estate.
