Why Explore Hagia Sophia?

No trip to Istanbul is complete without a visit to Hagia Sophia! If you aim to witness this architectural masterpiece, securing this priority access ticket along with an audio guide is an ideal choice.

Hagia Sophia, officially recognized as the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, stands as a quintessential symbol of Turkey. Its profound historical, religious, and architectural importance captivates anyone wishing to delve into its rich past. This ticket allows you to uncover various facets of the building's story, including its evolution from a church to a mosque, and even a museum.

Constructed during the reign of Justinian between 532 and 537, Hagia Sophia exemplifies the pinnacle of Byzantine artistic achievement. During your exploration, you will encounter its vast interior, which boasts a grand central nave, more than 100 columns, and the notable Imperial Door. Legend suggests that this door utilizes wood from Noah's Ark.

Moreover, the included audio guide in English will highlight fascinating details that might be overlooked otherwise. For instance, are you aware that ancient mosaics within Hagia Sophia left the Ottoman conquerors in awe upon their arrival in the 15th century?

This audio guide is accessible via your smartphone, and your booking confirmation will provide details on how to download it.

Before entering the mosque, take a moment to appreciate its four minarets and stunning dome, which spans over 30 metres (nearly 100 feet) in diameter. Be sure to locate the magnificent Ablution Fountain as well!
