Throughout the tour, we will uncover the fascinating history of Hagia Sophia from its exterior, appreciating its grandeur from various perspectives. The impressive 4 minarets and the expansive dome, which spans over 30 meters (98 feet) in diameter, stand as iconic representations of Istanbul.
You will delve into the architectural intricacies, from the unique lighting features to the remarkable scale of the main hall and its stunning mosaics. This site is sure to leave an indelible impression on every visitor.
After dedicating an hour to understanding the mosque from the outside, we will proceed to enter the building without the hassle of long ticket lines. Inside, you will learn how this former Greek Orthodox church transitioned into a mosque in the mid-15th century, later became a museum, and was converted back into a mosque in 2020.
Your exploration of Hagia Sophia will conclude outside the mosque, allowing you to reflect on your experience at your leisure.

Please be aware that restoration efforts are currently in progress at Hagia Sophia. Consequently, access is limited to the second floor, as the ground level is designated for prayer purposes.

With over 3.5 million visitors annually, Hagia Sophia experiences significant foot traffic. By reserving this tour, you will bypass the lengthy ticket lines, although you will still encounter a security queue upon entry, which may take up to an hour during peak seasons.

Important information
This booking confirmation does not contain your tickets and is not valid for entry to the monuments. You will receive a QR code from Cosmic Tickets after 6 pm the day before the activity. For same-day bookings, your ticket will be sent immediately. Please check your inbox and spam folder.
On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the Roots and Roasted Cafe, opposite The Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art and the Hippodrome of Constantinople, near the Egyptian Obelisk (Binbirdirek, At Meydanı Cd no: 10/1, 34122 Fatih/İstanbul, Turkey). Please be ready at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the tour starts.

Partial Closures
Please note that restoration works are currently underway at Hagia Sophia. As a result, only the second floor is accessible, as the lower level is reserved for prayer.
Skip-the-line Ticket
Santa Sophia is visited daily by more than 3.5 million people a year. By reserving this activity, you can avoid waiting in long queues at the ticket office. However, you will still have to queue up for security control to access the monument. During high season, this line may take up to an hour.
