Tour Overview
At the scheduled time, we will gather at the Roots And Roasted Café to initiate our journey through the mosques and palaces of Istanbul. Together, we'll delve into the intricate secrets of Ottoman architecture and the city’s most significant landmarks!
Our first destination will be the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, often referred to as the Blue Mosque. This name originates from the stunning blue mosaics that adorn its structure.
Afterwards, we will wander through the Sultanahmet District, soaking in its rich history. While exploring the area, you'll encounter the famed Hagia Sophia. Dating back to the 6th century, this edifice has transitioned between a basilica, Orthodox church, and mosque, reflecting its diverse past.
Currently, Hagia Sophia stands as a remarkable museum embodying the fusion of faiths that have coexisted in Turkey for centuries, captivating every visitor with its design. We will be struck by the remarkable interiors, particularly the grand central dome. Outside, the impressive minarets and semi-domes will also command your attention.
After bidding adieu to this architectural wonder, you will have 30 minutes of leisure to savor lunch at a local restaurant.
Following this, we will proceed to the Cistern Basilica, lovingly nicknamed the Submerged Palace.
Ultimately, after a journey extending over 3.5 hours, our tour of Istanbul's mosques and palaces will conclude back in the Sultanahmet District. Görü?ürüz!

Important information
On the day of the activity, you'll meet your guide in front of Roots And Roasted, located directly on the Hippodrome, next to the Egyptian Obelisk. The guide will be holding a white MegaPass flag.
Traffic in Istanbul can be very heavy in the morning, so we recommend that you time your departure from your accommodation well in advance.
Dress Code
You cannot enter sacred sites with clothes that expose the shoulders, armpits, back, or knees. We recommend that you bring a scarf/sweater to cover yourself or clothing that conforms to the dress code.
To enter the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia, women must cover their hair, shoulders, and knees, and men must cover their shoulders and knees. Scarves (1EUR) and body covers (3EUR) are available at the entrance.

Please note that you'll have to wait in line to visit the monuments on this tour. All three attractions have airport-style security checks, which may take up to 45 minutes during busy periods.
