Day Trip Overview

Our adventure begins with a pickup from your accommodation in João Pessoa. Following this, we'll embark on a journey of approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to the coastal fishing community of Barra de Mamanguape, where we'll transfer to a boat.

During our voyage, you will witness stunning beaches, sandy banks, and mangrove ecosystems. Are you excited to uncover a realm of peace and tranquility? While aboard, enjoy picturesque views of the coastline, as well as the Mamanguape and Sinimbu Rivers; these waterways weave through Indigenous territories before merging into the estuary.

Our first stop will be a coral reef, recognized as the second-largest natural protected area in Latin America. Here, an array of wildlife awaits, including green and hawksbill turtles.

Following this, we will visit various sandy banks that give rise to refreshing natural pools, perfect for a cool dip in the shallow waters. This serene location offers an opportunity to completely unwind and observe the harmonious lifestyle of locals who thrive in concert with nature and uphold environmental stewardship. You'll find it hard to leave this sanctuary!

Then, if you desire, you can rejuvenate your energy with a delightful fish and seafood stew at a Caicara restaurant by the river. This meal is prepared by the residents of Aldeia Camurupim using the freshest local ingredients. Truly a culinary treat!

To conclude our day, we will enjoy a short trek on Amor Island to explore its mangrove areas. This environment plays a vital role in regulating seawater salinity and conserving numerous animal species. Here, we will identify four distinct varieties of mangroves and indulge in a relaxing mud bath.

After a day basking in this natural sanctuary, we will return you to your hotel approximately 9 hours after the initial pickup.

Important information

The local guide will pick you up from your hotel in João Pessoa between 6:30 am and 8 am. Please note that they will contact you to confirm the exact pickup time.

We recommend being ready and waiting in the hotel lobby at least 10 minutes early.

Don't forget to bring sun cream, towels, comfortable shoes, and an extra layer.
