Excursion Overview

At the specified time, our team will collect you from your accommodation in João Pessoa. Our adventure commences with a scenic drive lasting approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to the quaint fishing community of Barra de Mamanguape, where we will board a boat.

During our journey, prepare to admire stunning beaches, sand banks, and mangroves. Are you ready to experience a tranquil haven? While on the boat, you’ll be treated to delightful views of the coastline and the Mamanguape and Sinimbu Rivers, passing diverse Indigenous communities before reaching the estuary.

We will pause at a coral reef, recognized as the second largest natural protected area in Latin America. This location is home to various marine species, including green and hawksbill turtles.

Following this, we will visit several sand banks where natural pools invite you for a refreshing swim in the gentle waters. This tranquil environment offers a perfect opportunity to unwind completely. Here, you will witness the local lifestyle, highlighting the close relationship the community shares with nature and their commitment to conservation. You may find it hard to leave!

For those interested, a typical fish and seafood stew is available at a Caicara restaurant by the river. This meal is crafted by residents of Aldeia Camurupim using the freshest local ingredients—truly delectable!

To conclude our day, we’ll take a short stroll through Amor Island to explore its vibrant mangroves. This area plays a crucial role in regulating the salinity of seawater and in preserving numerous animal species. Expect to discover four distinct types of mangrove trees, and enjoy a soothing mud bath.

After a day filled with natural beauty, we will return you to your hotel approximately 9 hours after the initial pickup.

Important information

The local guide will pick you up from your hotel in João Pessoa between 6:30 am and 8 am. Please note that they will contact you to confirm the exact pickup time.

We recommend being ready and waiting in the hotel lobby at least 10 minutes early.

Don't forget to bring sun cream, towels, comfortable shoes, and an extra layer.
