Saona Island Beach Adventure

Your day begins with a hotel pickup in Juan Dolio, ranging from 7 to 9 am. We will then proceed to Bayahíbe, where a boat awaits to transport us to the beautiful Saona Island.

During our journey to the island, we will pause at the stunning beach of La Palmilla, a tropical gem nestled within Cotubanamá National Park. Here, you will have the opportunity to dive into the warm Caribbean waters and enjoy some leisure time. Upon arriving at Saona Island, we will explore the idyllic beaches of La Caleta and Mano Juan, where you'll be free to unwind and marvel at the breathtaking scenery until it's time for lunch.

Feeling hungry? Our midday meal will consist of a traditional seaside feast, featuring rice, meat, salad, pasta, and a refreshing soft drink.

After satisfying your appetite, we'll take a leisurely walk through the village of Mano Juan. You'll discover its renowned wooden homes and visit the sea turtle conservation center, where a dedicated team works tirelessly to care for turtle hatchlings.

Next on the agenda is a visit to the pristine beach and lagoon of Los Flamencos, a turquoise oasis inviting you for a serene swim. Post-swim, we’ll hop back onto the boat to explore the surrounding mangrove area, where various species of black, red, white, and button mangroves thrive. Keep an eye out for tropical fish, and feel free to plunge into the water to seek out the famous starfish found in these vibrant waters.

As we conclude our adventure, we'll enjoy a toast with a cocktail made from fine Dominican rum. We expect to return to your hotel in Juan Dolio between 5 and 6:30 pm.
