An exciting adventure awaits as we explore the islands of the Uros and Taquile, where ancient traditions meet breathtaking scenery. Starting from Juliaca, this excursion includes a scenic boat ride that delves into the rich history of the communities residing by Lake Titicaca.

Uros & Taquile Islands Tour

Our journey begins bright and early at 6 am, with a minibus picking you up from your hotel in Juliaca to head towards Puno.

After approximately an hour on the road, we will reach the tranquil shores of Lake Titicaca and embark on a boat destined for the Uros islands, which are recognized as a cultural treasure of Peru. Did you know that this remarkable floating archipelago is man-made?

We will spend around 90 minutes discovering these unique islands, constructed from reeds and other aquatic plants by the Uros. You will have the chance to meet the local inhabitants, descendants of one of America’s oldest tribes, and immerse yourself in their customs and beliefs.

Next, we will cruise towards the island of Taquile. Here, we’ll take a leisurely one and a half-hour walk along picturesque trails, enjoying the serene landscape characterized by terraced hills used for agriculture. Furthermore, we will delve into the exquisite textile art of Taquile, recognized as an 'Intangible Heritage of Humanity by Unesco.

Feeling hungry? We’ll enjoy a delightful lunch in Taquile, featuring a starter, main course, and a refreshing drink. Once we've dined, we will make our way back to the boat.

Our excursion concludes at 3:30 pm when we will return you to your hotel in Juliaca.

2-Day Tour

If you wish to explore these enchanting destinations at a more leisurely pace, consider our 2-day tour. On the first day, we’ll thoroughly explore the Uros Islands, savoring lunch on-site and learning traditional fishing techniques alongside the locals. You'll also have the afternoon free to relax and spend the night in a traditional dwelling, complete with dinner.

On the second day, following breakfast at 7:30 am, we will journey to Taquile. You’ll visit its vibrant market, gain insight into local customs, and after lunch, we’ll head back to Juliaca, reaching by 3:50 pm.

Tour ending in Puno

If you prefer, we can conclude the excursion in Puno instead of returning to Juliaca. You will be dropped off at any central location or hotel of your choice.
