At the designated time, your journey begins as we transport you to the Bayahibe pier. Here, you will board a boat and set sail towards Saona Island.
During the voyage, a brief stop will be made at Palmilla beach, a picturesque location nestled within Cotubanamá National Park. Following this, we will continue to Saona Island, where you'll have leisure time until lunch.
When it's time to refuel, we will visit the fishing village of Mano Juan to savor a traditional local menu filled with various regional delights. Enjoy this culinary experience!
Feeling reenergized, we will proceed to the sea turtle conservation center, where you can observe the incubation and nurturing of these remarkable creatures.
Next, we will head to Los Flamencos beach, a beautiful stretch characterized by its rich endemic flora, all set against the backdrop of the Caribbean Sea. Afterward, we’ll return to the boat to explore the enchanting surrounding mangroves.
As you journey through the waters, keep an eye out for schools of tropical fish and other marine life. There will even be an opportunity for a refreshing swim to encounter the local starfish, ensuring that care is taken not to disturb them or their environment.
To conclude this delightful outing, we will raise a glass with a famous Dominican rum. Afterward, we will transport you back to the starting point, with the total experience lasting between 8 and 11.5 hours.
Pickup Information
During your reservation, you can select from several pickup locations:
- Tour from Bayahibe Pier (available solely on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays): departures will take place from Calle Bahia 2.
- Tour with pickup from your hotel in Bayahibe.
- Tour with pickup from your hotel in La Romana (available exclusively on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays).

Be aware that, for logistical reasons, adjustments to the order of the itinerary may occur.

Accessibility
Accessible only for folding chairs. Accessible toilets. An accompanying person is required. This must be indicated in the reservation.
Important information
We'll pick you up at the selected meeting point between 7 and 8 am. The guide will reach out to you to let you know the exact pickup time.
If you are staying at the Bouganville Hotel, we'll pick you up at the indicated time at the entrance of the Bahia Principe La Romana Hotel.
Once you know the exact pickup time, please be ready at the hotel reception or at the meeting point 10 minutes in advance to avoid delays on the tour.
During lunch, you can get second servings of the rice dishes, salad, fresh fruit and drinks if you are hungry.
Important Info
- The ride depends on the tides and, as it is a motorboat, the trip may be a bit rough. For this reason, the activity is not recommended for people with back or neck problems. In any case, all seats have backrests and, from the back of the boat, you will feel less movement.
- If you're going to do the excursion with children, it´s likely that we´ll ask you for an ID proving their age. We recommend bringing their passport or a photo of it.
