Whale Watching in Samana

Experience the majesty of the humpback whales in Samana Bay. This exceptional excursion from La Romana also includes a visit to the stunning island of Cayo Levantado.

Activity Details

The adventure begins as we depart from your accommodation in La Romana at the scheduled time. After a scenic bus journey of approximately two hours, we will reach the port of Las Cañitas, situated in the heart of Samana Bay.

Next, we will embark on a two and a half-hour boat journey to closely observe the renowned humpback whales of Samana. These magnificent creatures, some reaching lengths of up to 50 feet and weighing as much as 30 tons, truly dominate the waters of this region.

The boat ride will conclude at Cayo Levantado, a tropical haven. Here, we will enjoy a delightful buffet lunch while relaxing on pristine beaches and soaking in the breathtaking scenery. After some leisure time, we will regroup and board the boat for our return journey to the port.

Following our time at Cayo Levantado, we will travel back to La Romana by bus, arriving at your hotel approximately 11 to 12 hours after our departure.
