Description
Explore the stunning beaches of El Sotano and the remarkable marine fossils of Cañadon de las Ostras on this excursion starting from Las Grutas. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscapes of Rio Negro!
Trip to Cañadon de las Ostras and El Sotano
We will convene at your preferred time in Las Grutas, where we’ll board an all-terrain vehicle destined for the charming area known as Villa de los Pulperos. This unique location in Argentine Patagonia is famous for being home to the smallest octopus in the world.
As we travel along the stunning Rio Negro coastline, we will arrive at Piedras Coloradas beach to engage in an exhilarating session of sandboarding on the dunes, creating unforgettable memories as you glide over the sandy slopes. Following this exciting experience, we will proceed along the scenic pulperos route.
Next, we’ll make our way to the coastline of El Sótano, known for having the highest tidal variations in Argentina, where you'll gain insight into the phenomena behind these extraordinary tides. Our journey continues southward to Cañadón de las Ostras, where a towering rock wall presents an opportunity to observe marine fossils dating back over 20 million years.
In this remarkable Patagonian setting, we will also share a farewell toast while savoring an Argentinean picada, featuring an assortment of cheeses and traditional sausages. This serves as a delightful conclusion to our extraordinary adventure.
After replenishing our energy, we will return to our starting point in Las Grutas, concluding our trip approximately four hours after departure.
