During the booking process, you can select from various options detailed below. In either scenario, you'll need to arrive at the Observatory 1873 located on the Cerro del Vigía in Mazatlán at your preferred time.

1873 Observatory Admission

The renowned 1873 Observatory, originally established by the residents of Mazatlán, stands on the Cerro del Vigía, soaring 246 feet (75 meters) above sea level.

Your visit, which is self-guided, will commence with a short film highlighting Mazatlán. Following this introduction, you will board the funicular, honored as Elevator World magazine's Project of the Year in 2021.

As you enjoy the funicular ride, you can tour a house-museum adorned with 19th-century furnishings. Another essential stop will be the distillery, where a mezcal simulator awaits your exploration. Be sure to visit the El Nido bird sanctuary, home to over 70 species including macaws, parrots, parakeets, flamingos, toucans, iguanas, and turtles.

Among the additional attractions are the Cueva del Patrón, which served as a dungeon during its history, and the unique agaviarium, a desert garden located by the world's largest natural lighthouse.
