7-Day Safari to National Parks in Kenya
Description
The natural savanna and wildlife. These are the key ingredients of this 7-day safari to Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Hell's Gate, and Lake Nakuru. We'll visit 4 national parks and spot lions, elephants, rhinos, and many other species.
Tour Details
Day 1: Nairobi - Maasai Mara National Reserve
We'll pick you up from Nairobi Airport or your hotel and head to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. En route, we'll stop at the Great Rift Valley for a brief break and photo opportunity. Upon arrival, we'll have lunch and begin a 2-hour game drive to see elephants, buffalo, wildebeest, and more. Dinner will follow in camp.
Day 2: Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, we will explore the Maasai Mara, home to Africa's Big Five. There will be a picnic lunch in the reserve, followed by a visit to the wildebeest migration site. We will return to camp for dinner.
Day 3: Maasai Mara National Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park
Post-breakfast, we will travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, optionally visiting a Maasai Mara village. A lunch stop will be made along the 4-hour journey. Enjoy the facilities in Nakuru upon arrival.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru - Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, a 3-4 hour game drive will take place in Lake Nakuru before lunch in the park. We will then proceed to Lake Naivasha for a 1-hour boat ride to observe local birds and possibly hippos. Optional activities include visiting Crescent Island or a 2-hour horse riding experience.
Day 5: Hell's Gate - Amboseli National Park
We'll have breakfast and head to Hell's Gate National Park, where we will enjoy a bike tour, exploring geological structures in the park. Lunch will be followed by a drive to Amboseli National Park where dinner is served at our camp.
Day 6: Amboseli National Park
We will start the day with an early morning game-viewing drive for 2 hours, followed by breakfast. The day will include searching for wildlife such as zebras and giraffes, with a picnic lunch included before returning for dinner.
Day 7: Amboseli National Park - Nairobi
Our final day includes a morning game drive before breakfast and checking out. A 4-hour drive back to Nairobi will complete our safari.
Accommodation
The tour includes 6 nights of full board accommodation at:
- Maasai Mara (2 nights): Rhino Tourist Camp or similar
- Lake Nakuru (1 night): City Max Hotel or Buraha Hotel, or similar
- Lake Naivasha (1 night): Chambai Resort or similar
- Amboseli (2 nights): Nyati Safari or Manjaro Camp or similar
Additional Activities
- Experience a hot air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara. This hour-long flight at sunrise on the second day includes a champagne toast.
- On the third day, we can stop at a traditional Maasai Village to learn about the local culture.
- On the fourth day, opt for a boat trip to Crescent Island or horse riding at Sanctuary Farm.

Important information
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi. Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.

- Day 2: You can take part in a Balloon Safari early in the morning before the normal day 2 itinerary (420USD per person)
- Day 3: You can visit a Maassai Village (20USD per person)
- Day 4: You can take a boat trip to Crescent Island (35USD per person) or a 2-hour horse riding experience (70USD per person)
Additionally, please remember to bring insect repellant and sunscreen.
Accommodation
The accommodations are in budgeted tented camps with big tents that have a shower, a bed, mosquito nets, and linen. There is also hot water.
