At the agreed time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Oaxaca and set off towards one of the state's most picturesque locations - the charming Santa María del Tule.
Our adventure begins at the park home to the remarkable Tree of Tule. This ancient juniper tree boasts the widest trunk in the world and is estimated to be over 2,000 years old. As we admire this extraordinary natural marvel, weighing approximately 630 tonnes, we will delve into its fascinating history and significance.
Next, we will continue to the delightful town of Teotitlán del Valle, where you will witness the intricate process behind the crafting of traditional tapetes, bags, and sarapes. These textiles are dyed using time-honored techniques that harness natural materials such as chinchilla, thereby avoiding harmful synthetic substances that could impact the environment.
Following our exploration of these artisanal methods, we will leave Teotitlán del Valle and proceed to a local mezcal distillery. Here, you will gain insight into the production of mezcal, one of Oaxaca's most beloved spirits.
After this immersive experience, we will return you to your hotel in Oaxaca, completing a 4.5-hour journey filled with cultural delights.
