Join us as we journey to Slovenia to explore the Postojna Cave alongside the majestic Predjama Castle. This adventure will take you through one of Europe's most significant karst caves and the impressive fortress that has been built into a cave.

Your day begins with a pickup from your hotel in Opatija at 9 am, followed by a scenic drive that will take us across the border into Slovenia, where our first stop is the stunning Postojna Cave.

After approximately an hour and a half of travel, we'll arrive at the most renowned karst cave in Europe. As you step into the Postojna Cave, the early morning start will quickly prove its worth, and you’ll be greeted by extraordinary rock formations, including impressive stalagmites reaching up to 5 meters in height.

Continuing our exploration, we will board a small train that allows us to access areas within the cave that are not reachable on foot. During this unique train journey through the Postojna Cave, you will encounter stunning Murano glass chandeliers, a lavish ballroom, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of the olms, often referred to as the 'offspring of the dragon'.

Next, our trip takes us to the distinguished Predjama Castle, a fortress dramatically situated on a cliff towering over 120 meters. This remarkable site is notably the last remaining cave castle in Europe, adding to its intrigue.

As we enter the castle, you will have the opportunity to wander through its various chambers while learning about its rich history, including the captivating tales of Erasmus of Predjama, a figure often likened to Slovenia's version of Robin Hood.

Once our guided exploration concludes, we will make our way back to the minibus for our return to Opatija. You can expect to be dropped off at your hotel by around 4 pm.
