Cruise Overview

Day 1

Our adventure begins at Iskandar airport in the morning, from where we will make our way to Kumai. Once we arrive, we will board our klotok, a traditional Indonesian wooden boat that will serve as our floating accommodation for the entirety of the cruise.

As we navigate down the Sekonyer River, the journey leads us to the Tanjung Harapan rehabilitation center for Orangutans. This part of Borneo is rich in biodiversity, allowing you to observe wildlife such as the proboscis monkey, Macaques, and various exotic birds along the way.

At the Tanjung Harapan reserve, witness orangutans in their natural habitat. It's a unique moment to appreciate their gentle nature while maintaining a respectful distance.

Following our wildlife encounter, we will return to the Klotok to take in the stunning sunset over the Sekonyer River. As night falls, enjoy a delightful candlelit dinner, all while being gently rocked by the river's currents and surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.

Day 2

Awakening at dawn, greeted by the chorus of the jungle, we will savor a hearty breakfast before we set off to the camp at Pondok Tanggui. Here, you'll have the chance to engage with playful orangutans of various sizes.

Afterwards, we return to our klotok and journey to the Leakey camp. During this two-hour cruise, there will be ample opportunity to relax, immerse yourself in nature, and enjoy an appetizing meal on board.

Upon arrival at Camp Leakey, you can choose to either embark on a hiking trail through the Indonesian jungle or explore the information center. Later, we will venture to the Nipa Palm area, renowned as the home of Fireflies. In this enchanting setting, observe the magical glow of these insects that create a captivating atmosphere.

Please be aware that sightings of fireflies are not guaranteed, as they are wild creatures whose behaviors can vary based on numerous environmental factors.

Before wrapping up the day, join a thrilling night trek in search of orangutans—this moonlit adventure promises to be unforgettable!

We will conclude our day with dinner aboard our floating home and a restful night, recharging for the following day.

Day 3

After breakfast on the klotok, we will glide along the river back to Kumai. Once there, we will transition to an air-conditioned vehicle for our transfer to Pangkalan Bun airport around 9:30 am, concluding our enriching three days together.

Accommodation Details

During your journey through Borneo, you will stay onboard a traditional klotok. This sizable wooden boat, approximately 50 feet long, features comfortable mattresses, cushions, mosquito nets, along with a kitchen and a bathroom.

The onboard experience is enhanced by a dedicated professional crew, consisting of a captain, a chef, and an English-speaking guide to assist you throughout the voyage.

Preparation for the Tour

To participate in this exciting adventure, you will need a round-trip flight to Pangkalan Bun Iskandar Airport. It is important to arrive on the day of your tour before noon and schedule your return three days later. For example, if you arrive on a Monday, you should plan to fly back on Wednesday, ensuring your return flight is scheduled before 11 am.
