Château de Vincennes Ticket
This ticket grants you direct entry to three significant monuments within the Château de Vincennes: the Castle, the Keep, and the Sainte-Chapelle de Vincennes chapel.
Château de Vincennes
Recognized as among the largest medieval castles across Europe, the fortress of Vincennes was constructed from the 14th to the 17th centuries. Initially established as a hunting lodge, it underwent expansions over the years, notably serving as the venue for the royal weddings of Philip III and Philip IV.
With your ticket, you can wander through the elegantly designed halls and chambers of the Château. A highlight is the private office of Charles V, which contains the library and study of the French ruler.
The Keep of Vincennes
This structure functions as the primary watchtower of the castle. Beyond its role in safeguarding the fortress, it also protected vital resources and treasures.
Ascending to the top of the Keep offers you breathtaking panoramas of the entire Vincennes complex.
Sainte-Chapelle de Vincennes
Constructed in the 14th century on the orders of King Charles V, this chapel is hailed as a masterpiece of Flamboyant Gothic architecture. Its detailed polychrome stained-glass windows create an enchanting play of light, captivating visitors as they enter.

The last admission is granted 45 minutes before the monument’s closing time.
Sainte-Chapelle
On the days when the castle is accessible, the Sainte-Chapelle opens at 10:30 am. Please note that it is closed to visitors from 1 pm to 2 pm and last 30 minutes before closing time.
Activity Languages
The exploration of the castle's interior and the Sainte-Chapelle is self-guided, following an itinerary found in an English and multilingual brochure.
Within the castle lies the personal office of King Charles V of France. Visitors can experience this room through an augmented reality tablet, which displays various videos in English and other languages.
Access to the Keep is available through a guided tour. The schedule of this tour will be available at the castle's ticket office on the day of your visit.
Free Admission
Entry to the Château de Vincennes is complimentary for the following individuals:
- Young individuals from the European Union aged 18 to 25
- Children below 18 years old, irrespective of nationality
- Unemployed individuals, persons with disabilities, and one accompanying person, journalists, students of architecture, tourism professionals, military personnel, police, and other state security forces.
For all visitors, the first Sunday of the month between January 1 and March 31, from November 1 to December 31, and the third weekend of September also allows free admission.
To claim the free admission mentioned above, you must present a certifying document of eligibility at the ticket office on-site.

Chateau de Vincennes is located at the following address of the French capital: 1 Avenue de Paris. To access the fortress you simply need to display the bar code which you will find on the voucher of your reservation.
How to Get There
The Château de Vincennes metro station is located just opposite the castle. The stop is at the end of line 1 (yellow). Please note that this station is located outside Zone A, so the cost of the ticket is higher.
