Sainte-Chapelle

Sainte-Chapelle Opening Hours
Your visit to the Sainte-Chapelle will occur at the designated time you selected.
The Conciergerie visit should also take place on the same day and can be scheduled at any time within the following hours:
- From April 1 to September 30: 9 am to 7 pm
- From October 1 to March 31: 9 am to 5 pm
Note that entry to the Conciergerie is allowed up to 40 minutes before closing. These hours may vary, particularly on special occasions.
Admission is organized in 30-minute intervals. For instance, if your reservation is at 10 am, entry is permitted at that time or by 10:30 am at the latest. Early entry is not permitted.
We suggest visiting the Sainte-Chapelle in the morning to avoid peak crowds.

Conciergerie in Paris
This Gothic palace was a residence for the French monarchy in the Middle Ages. However, it transformed into a prison during the French Revolution, with Marie Antoinette being one of its most notable inmates before her execution. Explore the lavish rooms and splendid architecture, and venture into the cells where France's last queen spent her final moments.

With your Conciergerie ticket, you will receive a complimentary informational leaflet in English and several other languages. Free guided tours in French are also offered, lasting about an hour, with timings that vary throughout the week. Inquire about French guided tours upon your arrival at the Conciergerie.
Conciergerie Opening Hours
Access to the Conciergerie can be coordinated for the same day as your visit to Sainte-Chapelle, during the following hours: from 9:30 am to 6 pm.
Final admission takes place 30 minutes prior to closing time.
Special opening hours:
- Thursday, October 8: closes at 2 pm (last admission at 1 pm)
- Thursday, October 15: opens at 11 am
- Tuesday, November 3: last admission at 3 pm
Brochure Languages
Admission to the Conciergerie comes with an explanatory brochure in English and other languages. A complimentary guided tour in French is also available. The tour time varies, so be sure to ask the staff at the entrance about the schedule.
Visiting with a HistoPad
As you enter the monument, you will receive a HistoPad, an interactive tablet that provides insights into the history of the sites with a variety of infographics. Please note that the HistoPad is only available until 4:15 pm.
Ticket Options
During your booking process, you can select from the following ticket types:
- EEA citizen: eligible for citizens or residents (for more than 4 months) of a country within the European Economic Area, which includes 27 EU countries plus Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Norway. A valid ID or passport will be required at the entrance.
- Non-EEA citizen: intended for visitors who do not fall under the previous category.
Why Purchase This Ticket?
The price of this ticket is higher than the official rates for the Sainte-Chapelle and the Conciergerie, but it ensures you skip the line at the ticket office. However, be prepared to queue at the security checkpoint to enter the site.
Free Admission
Entry to the Sainte-Chapelle is complimentary for the following individuals:

Additionally, free admission is granted on the first Sunday of each month from January to March, November to December, and during the third weekend of September.

Important information
Both the Conciergerie de Paris and the Sainte-Chapelle are located on the Boulevard du Palais on the Île de la Cité in Paris. To access both monuments, all you have to do is show the barcode on your booking voucher at the main entrance.
The Cité metro station is just a five-minute walk from the Conciergerie and the Sainte-Chapelle. This stop is on line 4 (the purple one).
Before entering the monuments, please note that the following items are not allowed: motorcycle helmets, aerosols, knives, forks or sharp objects, scissors, glass bottles, large luggage or bags, scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades.

The opening hours vary depending on the monument:
Sainte-Chapelle
Your visit to Sainte-Chapelle will take place at the time you selected.
Access to the monument is organized in 30-minute slots. For example, if your time is 10 am, you can enter at that time, or at 10:30 am at the latest. You won't be allowed in before your selected time.
We recommend visiting the Sainte-Chapelle in the morning when the monument is less crowded.

Access Points
Currently, access to Île de la Cité is available from two different points in Paris. You can head to either of these access points:
- From the right bank of the Seine (Châtelet metro stop): access to the island is via the Pont au Change. You'll need to present your booking voucher at the checkpoint located at the Tour de l'Horloge
- From the left bank of the Seine (Saint-Michel Notre-Dame metro stop): access to the island is via the Pont Saint-Michel. You'll need to present your booking voucher at the checkpoint located at the intersection of Quai des Orfèvres and Boulevard du Palais
