Itinerary for the Louvre Museum Tour
Your visit will commence at the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, conveniently located opposite the iconic glass pyramid that marks the entrance of the Louvre.
From this point, we will proceed to explore the museum’s primary collections and embark on a guided journey through this renowned establishment. You will traverse the halls dedicated to Greek sculpture, where you will encounter the Winged Victory of Samothrace, one of the museum's most revered sculptures. Additionally, the tour will include stops in front of notable works such as the Greek goddess Artemis and the intriguing Sleeping Hermaphroditus.
No visit would be complete without admiring the opulent decorations of the Gallery of Apollo, designed under the direction of Louis XIV, the Sun King. Furthermore, you will be captivated by the magnificent Great Sphinx of Tanis, a remarkable work that dates back to 2600 BC.
Your exploration of the Louvre's painting masterpieces will highlight the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, along with other masterpieces from illustrious artists throughout art history, including Rubens, Goya, Delacroix, and more.
The vast array of artworks in the Louvre includes indispensable pieces that have shaped the history of painting. Additional highlights you will see are The Wedding at Cana by Veronese, Liberty Leading the People by Delacroix, and The Turkish Bath by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, among others.
