Excursion to La Cocha Lagoon and Santa Lucía Wetlands
We will gather at Plaza de Nariño at 7:30 am, setting off towards the Putumayo department, where our journey into nature begins.
After a scenic 40-minute drive, we will arrive at La Cocha Lagoon, the second-largest freshwater resource in Colombia. Here, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the serene surroundings as we embark on a hiking adventure around the town of El Puerto, nestled along the lake's edge. During this hike, charming wooden houses influenced by Swiss architecture will catch your eye.
Post-hike, we will enjoy a boat voyage across La Cocha Lagoon, eventually reaching the Santa Lucía wetlands, a site protected under the Ramsar Convention. This area invites us to explore a valley of frailejones, unique plants that thrive in this distinctive ecosystem.
At the midpoint of our journey, we will pause at a local farm to savor a lunch prepared with organic ingredients sourced directly from the farm. Following our meal, our exploration will continue to the community of Torres de Paz, where we will learn about the history of this iconic monument known for its message of peace and unity.
We will conclude our day's adventure with a return to Pasto, arriving back at the original meeting point by 7:30 pm.

We'll meet at 7:30 am at the statue of Antonio Nariño, located in the center of the Plaza de Nariño. The guide will be wearing a brown vest.
