Guachucal + La Cumbal Lagoon Hiking Tour
Description
Escape the pressures of daily life with a hiking adventure in Guachucal and the La Cumbal lagoon, an area revered by ancient cultures for its vitality and rejuvenation.
Hiking Tour of Guachucal and La Cumbal Lagoon
Our journey begins early at 6 am, where we gather at the Antonio Nariño monument, nestled in the corresponding square. From this point, we will head towards the town of Guachucal, situated in the southern part of Nariño.
Upon arrival, we'll embark on an old trail once traversed by indigenous people as they made their way to the La Bolsa lagoon, a site of profound spiritual significance for them. This path meanders through the lush pastures on the slopes of Cumbal volcano and skirts along the edges of the Los Capotes Nature Reserve.
This four-hour trek, rated as medium-low difficulty, offers an opportunity to delve into the mythologies surrounding Cumbal volcano while gaining insight into how the locals in Guachucal safeguard their natural surroundings. This expedition promises a transformative experience of self-reflection and deep immersion in nature, recharging your spirit with positive vibrations.
At La Bolsa lagoon, we'll discuss the significance of this area as a source of energy and renewal for indigenous populations, while you take in the stunning views of the lagoon with the majestic Cumbal volcano framing the backdrop.
Next, we will board a boat to journey across the lagoon and reach the municipality of Cumbal. Here, you will get to explore the magnificent Los Capotes Reserve and enjoy a meal that includes a hearty soup, a fish dish, and a refreshing drink.
Our adventure concludes with our return to Pasto, where we will drop you off at the initial meeting spot around 6 pm.
