Your adventure begins with a hotel pickup in Pereira at 7:30 am, followed by a scenic drive northward to the town of Marsella, where we'll navigate through the lush coffee plantations of the Cauca River Valley in a 4x4 vehicle.

Upon arrival in Marsella after roughly an hour, we will visit a local farm, greeted with a delightful appetizer of patacones con hogao, consisting of fried plantains topped with a savory onion and tomato sauce prepared from fresh, organic ingredients harvested from their garden.

We will then explore the farm's grounds to observe the cacao tree fields and gain insights into the artisanal chocolate-making process, starting from the cacao seed right up to the final warm beverage. Witness the extraction of cacao beans, the roasting, and the grinding process, all culminating in the extraction of rich cacao juice which will be set aside to cool.

The culmination of our efforts will be a delicious chocolate drink, which will accompany a traditional meal such as sancocho (made with chicken and assorted vegetables), crafted entirely from farm-fresh ingredients.

After enjoying our meal, we will head into the heart of Marsella for a taste of exquisite Colombian coffee in the main square. Here, one can admire the captivating colonial architecture, featured in notable buildings like the Casa de la Cultura boasting beautiful balconies. This site also houses a museum recognized as an Asset of Cultural Heritage.

We will continue our visit to the Botanical Garden, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll surrounded by vibrant flora, as well as the José María Cemetery, another highlight of Marsella.

Our day concludes with the return trip to Pereira, where you will be dropped off at your hotel by 4:30 pm.
