Chichén Itzá & Chichikan Cenote Day Trip
Description
Chichén Itzá stands out as a must-see destination in the Riviera Maya. This day excursion offers the opportunity not only to explore the archaeological marvel but also to enjoy a refreshing swim in the beautiful Chichikan cenote, a stunning natural pool.
Details of the Day Trip
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in the Riviera Maya, followed by a quick stop at a craft store before embarking on our journey.
The primary highlight will be our visit to Chichén Itzá, the most significant and celebrated remnants of the ancient Maya civilization. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, it was also declared one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.
Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, we will explore the ancient city and uncover its compelling narrative. While discovering its myths and intriguing facts, we will tour the temples of Chichén Itzá. Notable sites include the iconic Kukulcan Temple and the Temple of Warriors, both adorned with detailed war imagery and framed by a columned canopy.
Next, our journey leads us to the Chichikan cenote, where a revitalizing swim in the azure waters awaits. After enjoying this refreshing experience, we'll venture to a local eatery to savor a scrumptious buffet lunch.
Post-lunch, we will make our way to the colonial city of Valladolid. Here, a scenic 25-minute tour of the historical center will allow us to take in landmarks such as the San Servacio Church, the Municipal Palace, and the vibrant Municipal Market.
Finally, we will return to the Riviera Maya, ensuring you are dropped off at your hotel or designated meeting point around 12 to 13 hours following your initial pickup.
