This day excursion takes you to the Coba Ruins, featuring Yucatán's highest pyramid, and leads you to the enchanting Río Secreto, where you will traverse and swim through serene subterranean rivers steeped in geological history.
Day Trip Overview
At the arranged time, we will collect you at your accommodation in Playa del Carmen to commence this exploration of the Coba Ruins, an archaeological marvel rich in history and enchantment. Prepare for an adventure amidst the Mayan rainforest!
Once we arrive, we will dedicate 45 minutes to discovering this intriguing site, uncovering the mysteries of its ancient civilization and their customs. Following our exploration, you'll have time to wander and capture memorable photographs of this remarkable location.
After our visit, we will proceed to Río Secreto, a natural wonder that promises to captivate you. Initially, we will equip you with all the essential gear and provide comprehensive instructions for the tour.
Before entering Xibalba, the term for the Mayan underworld, we will journey along the nature trails of the reserve, where you will receive a warm Mayan greeting. This ceremony will mark the beginning of your unforgettable experience!
Then, prepare to walk and swim through 800 meters (2624 feet) of stunning underground rivers. The formations of stalactites and stalagmites will transport you to a realm that feels out of a fairytale. You will be awe-struck by this extraordinary beauty and tranquility!
Upon concluding this subterranean adventure, we will toast with Xtabentún, a local liquor with its origins in Mayan culture. Following this, you'll have the opportunity to view photographs captured during our journey while enjoying a delightful buffet-style lunch.
Ultimately, we will escort you back to your hotel in Playa del Carmen, bidding farewell after an incredible 8 hours of rich culture, nature exploration, and enjoyment.
