Activity Details

We will convene at the designated location, Rua Rafael Pico 5 in Portonovo. Our journey will begin as we proceed to the pier to board a boat for a scenic exploration of the Pontevedra estuary. Are you ready for an enjoyable aquatic adventure?

Once we embark, we’ll navigate through the tranquil waters of the estuary, taking in the picturesque view of Ons Island on the horizon. During the journey, we will uncover the harmonious blend of the Galician coastline, its seafaring heritage, nature, and time-honored fishing villages.

Our route includes cruising past Aguete Beach and the Marín Naval Academy, recognized as a pivotal naval institution in Spain. We will also glide by the enigmatic island of Tambo, filled with ancient military lore. Our adventure continues as we pass through charming towns such as Combarro and Raxó.

While in Combarro, we will have the chance to admire its iconic hórreos by the sea from onboard. This town boasts one of the best-preserved samples of traditional architecture in the Galician region.

Throughout the cruise, we will partake in a delightful tasting of freshly prepared mussels, paired with wine, water, or soft drinks. As we savor this culinary highlight of Galician tradition, we will gain insights into the traditional mussel rafts, discovering the intricacies of mussel farming and the reasons behind the exceptional characteristics of Rías Baixas waters for aquaculture.
