Embark on a journey to explore one of the most remarkable architectural gems of the Villa Imperial de Potosí, along with its intriguing catacombs, in our guided tour of the San Francisco Monastery.

At the scheduled time, we will gather on Calle Ayacucho and proceed to the nearby Monastery of San Francisco.

This convent, established in 1548, transports us to an era of colonial history, when the riches from Potosí's silver mines enabled the creation of grand religious structures like San Francisco.

The complex features a church topped with decorative domes, a bell tower, multiple areas which once served as monks' quarters, and a crypt situated beneath the main altar.

We will explore the temple where the monks gathered for prayers and take in the beauty of the ornate high altar before moving through the various sections of the monastery. As we wander, we will admire the artwork associated with the Franciscan order.

Following this, our path leads us to the catacombs, a solemn resting place for many souls.

Concluding our 1-hour exploration, we will part ways at the exit of the monastery.
