We will gather at your preferred time in front of the National Mint of Bolivia, a landmark that has significantly influenced the course of Bolivian and Spanish Empire history.

Upon entering, the grand entrance cloister will undoubtedly captivate your attention. This is just one of the five courtyards housed within the National Mint. You will also notice a large mask with a sarcastic grin positioned above the courtyard's arcades. Join us to uncover the identity of this figure and the story behind its wry smile!

As we navigate through the various rooms, we will uncover the pivotal role this institution played during the viceregal period, a time when the Villa Imperial de Potosí rose to become one of the globe's wealthiest cities.

The museum features artworks, numismatic collections, smelting facilities, and an array of machinery from different centuries employed in the production of precious coins. You'll have the opportunity to examine examples of reales (historic Spanish coins), marks, alongside gold and silver currencies.

Concluding our visit, we will stop by the gift shop, where you can acquire a memento crafted from brass, copper, or silver, or even try your hand at stamping your own coin!
