La Malinche National Park Trek
Description
Explore the stunning La Malinche National Park and immerse yourself in nature while experiencing breathtaking vistas on this trek to the summit of La Malinche volcano. This excursion is ideal for novice hikers!
Trek Through La Malinche National Park
A designated vehicle will collect you from your accommodation in Puebla at the scheduled time, taking you to the state of Tlaxcala en route to La Malinche National Park. After approximately 1.5 hours of travel, we will arrive at a hostel situated on the volcano's slopes, where we will begin our 6-hour hiking adventure.
The hike encompasses a distance of 2.4 to 3.10 mi (4 to 5 km), reaching a peak altitude of around 2361 ft (3800 m). Participants will gain an elevation of 434 ft (700 m), with the trail presenting a technical difficulty level from beginner to intermediate, making it suitable for those looking to embark on their first mountain climbing experience amid pine and fir forests.
We will take a break at a location known as Los Arenales, where you can rest and appreciate the panoramic views. From this point, you will get a closer glimpse of the summit of La Malinche volcano. Interestingly, this mountain has historically been revered as a goddess.
Following our lunch break, we will marvel at the spectacular sight of the volcanic chain, which includes Citlaltépetl, Popocatépetl, and Iztaccíhuatl - a scene that feels almost cinematic!
Lastly, we will return to the hostel to board our vehicle and make our way back to Puebla. After a fulfilling total of 13 hours, we will bid farewell at your hotel.
