Chichén Itzá & Chichi Kan Cenote Day Trip
Description
Chichén Itzá stands out as an essential destination in the Riviera Maya. This day-long excursion not only includes a visit to the archaeological marvel but also offers the chance to swim in the Chichi Kan cenote, a stunning natural pool ideal for relaxation.
Details of the Day Trip
After picking you up from your accommodation in the Riviera Maya, we'll start our journey with a brief stop at an artisan shop before launching into the day's adventures.
Our initial stop will be at the most esteemed ruins of the Maya civilization—Chichén Itzá. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 and recognized as one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World in 2007, this site is not to be missed.
Your guided exploration of the ancient city by a specialist in Maya history will immerse you in fascinating tales and insights as we traverse the vast grounds. During our visit, we'll encounter the Chichén Itzá temples, particularly the iconic Kukulcan Temple and the Temple of Warriors, famous for their warrior-themed carvings and surrounded by a striking columned hall.
Next, we will proceed to the Chichi Kan cenote, where you can take a refreshing swim in its crystal-clear waters. After enjoying this natural wonder, we'll head to a local restaurant to indulge in a delicious buffet lunch.
Fully revitalized, we will continue our journey towards the colonial city of Valladolid. Here, a scenic 25-minute tour of the historic town will allow us to admire sites such as the church of San Servacio, the Municipal Palace, and the vibrant Municipal Market.
As the day draws to a close, we will return to the Riviera Maya, ensuring you are dropped off at your hotel or the designated meeting point approximately 12 to 13 hours after we first collected you.
