Pacaya Volcano for Cruise Ship Passengers Quad Tour
Description
Embark on an exhilarating quad adventure at the Pacaya volcano, where you will navigate through stunning petrified lava rivers and witness the impressive crater alongside the breathtaking Calderas Lake. This journey promises excitement for all who dare to partake!
Tour Overview
Upon your arrival at the Puerto Quetzal cruise terminal, we will board our transport for a scenic drive of approximately one and a half hours to the base of the Pacaya volcano. Are you ready to tackle thrilling volcanic paths aboard a robust quad?
Upon arrival, you'll be outfitted with helmets and protective gear. We will assign each participant their quad and provide a safety briefing to ensure effective handling. The journey begins with an easier path, allowing you to acclimate to the unique volcanic terrain before progressing to the more exhilarating segments.
As we ignite the engines, we will delve into the landscape surrounding the Pacaya, one of Guatemala's most active volcanoes. During this exhilarating three-hour ride, be prepared to traverse a surreal environment, including hardened lava flows and ancient lava rivers. Notably, the Pacaya’s peak ascends to over 2,500 meters (8,202 ft), with its activity recorded since the colonial era.
Throughout the excursion, we will take in the views of Calderas Lake, nestled amidst a striking mountainous backdrop that sharply contrasts with the surrounding dry landscapes. Continuing our journey, we will navigate through fields of solidified lava, observe fumaroles, and pause at a lookout to admire the smoking crater.
While reaching the summit is not feasible for safety reasons, the vistas of the Guatemalan volcanic range are truly breathtaking, providing excellent opportunities for photographs.
Upon concluding our quad ride, we make our way back to the base before returning to the cruise terminal, where our adventure wraps up after an unforgettable six hours.
