Saona Island Beach Tour
Description
Experience the natural beauty of the Dominican Republic with an excursion to Saona Island's stunning beaches, starting from Punta Cana. This journey will lead you to some of the island's most enchanting and lesser-known destinations.
Tour Overview
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Punta Cana at the scheduled time. Once everyone is ready, we will depart towards Bayahíbe, where you will board a speedboat to commence your excursion to Saona Island.
As we cruise, we'll pause briefly at Palmilla Beach, a stunning oasis perfect for a refreshing swim in crystal-clear waters.
Next, we continue on to Saona Island to explore the beautiful beaches of Mano de Juan and Caleta. Here, you’ll find expansive stretches of pristine white sand, adorned with coconut trees and indigenous vegetation.
Feeling peckish? You’re in for a treat as we enjoy a leisurely lunch by the beach, featuring a traditional menu that includes rice, meat, salad, pasta, and a non-alcoholic drink. Enjoy your meal!
After lunch, we will visit the quaint fishing village of Mano Juan. Here, you'll have the opportunity to connect with locals and learn from the staff at the sea turtle preservation center, who will explain the nurturing process of newborn sea turtles.
Our next stop is Los Flamencos beach, a picturesque location with turquoise waters perfect for relaxation. Following some time here, we’ll embark on a boat ride through the nearby mangrove swamps. During this exploration, you’ll have the chance to swim in the ocean and possibly encounter the renowned giant sea stars. Please remember to tread carefully to protect their natural habitat.
As our journey nears its end, we’ll raise a toast with a glass of Dominican rum before heading back to Bayahíbe. From there, a bus will return us to Punta Cana.
Expect to arrive back at your hotel within a span of 8 to 11.5 hours.

Important
- The conditions of the motorboat ride will depend on the tides and sea conditions. The trip may be a bit bumpy, so for this reason, the activity is not recommended for people with back or neck problems. In any case, all seats have backrests and, if you sit at the back of the boat, you'll feel less movement.
- We highly recommend starting the day with a hearty breakfast to ensure you have enough energy for the excursion ahead.
- Photography equipment is not provided by our company. If you wish to have professional photos taken, you can hire somebody on your own. We suggest discussing the price and quantity of photos to be delivered beforehand, ensuring both parties are clear on the agreed conditions. You should also get the photographer's name, surname, email, and telephone number. Verify that the photographer writes down their email for photo delivery or for future reference (make sure to write them within a day, as photos are usually deleted).
- Additionally, on the beach, you may encounter local vendors selling handicrafts, women offering massages, or coconut water sellers inviting you to taste their refreshing products. These individuals are part of the community on Saona Island, and their livelihood depends on tourism. If you're not interested, politely declining is completely understandable. However, if you choose to purchase their products or services, you'll be supporting the local economy and contributing to their success. We appreciate your collaboration in promoting and developing the community.
- If you´re going to do the excursion with children, on the day of the activity it´s likely that we´ll ask you for a document proving their age, so they should bring either their passport or a photo of it.
