Discover the mesmerizing landscapes of the Chilean Altiplano during an enriching day tour to Chapiquiña. This journey also includes a visit to the renowned Juntuma Hot Springs, nestled within the Andean foothills.

Day Trip to Chapiquiña & Juntuma Hot Springs

Your adventure will commence with a pick-up from your accommodation in Putre between 7:00 and 8:00 am, as we embark towards the regions of Chapiquiña and Juntuma, located in the pristine Chilean Altiplano.

The first highlight of our day trip is the charming village of Socoroma, renowned for its striking Church of San Francisco de Asis. Our journey will then take us to Zapahuira, where we'll explore the Inca archaeological remains and delve into their historical context.

Next, we will arrive in Belén, where we can appreciate two significant religious sites, the Churches of Our Lady of Carmen and Our Lady of Belén. At this point, we will take a break for a delicious picnic lunch, featuring sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolates, and refreshing juice.

Post-lunch, our exploration of the stunning natural scenery surrounding Chapiquiña will continue. There’s a chance to spot some Andean wildlife such as llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas. Our journey will culminate at the Juntuma Hot Springs, situated at an impressive altitude of 12,467 feet (3,800 meters) above sea level.

Reaching these hot springs involves navigating through a challenging ravine, so we will drive as far as possible before making the remaining trek on foot. After soaking in the breathtaking views, we’ll conclude our day and return to your hotel in Putre, where we’ll part ways between 4:00 and 5:00 pm.
