Day Trip to the Suriplaza Colourful Mountains
Your adventure begins at 7 am when we pick you up from your accommodation in Putre and set off towards the vibrant mountains of Suriplaza located in northern Chile.
As we travel, we will pass the majestic Taapacá Volcano, soaring at an impressive height of 19,225 feet (5,860 meters). Our route will then lead us through the quaint village of Colpita, from which we will take a scenic detour to explore the breathtaking Suriplaza Mountains adorned in reddish, ochre, and orange tones.
Throughout this day trip, we will be on the lookout for the local fauna. You may encounter species unique to the Chilean Altiplano, such as vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas. Let’s uncover how these creatures thrive in the harsh Andean environment! Afterward, we will enjoy a picnic lunch consisting of sandwiches, dried fruits, nuts, chocolate, and juice.
Post-lunch, we will continue to explore the stunning landscapes surrounding Suriplaza. Our journey will also take us through nearby villages in this region, including Cosapilla and Caquena.
Before returning to Putre, we will make a short stop in the town of Putre. You will be dropped off at your hotel between 1 and 3 pm.
